Growth Chart
As a breeder, my primary concern is always the health and well-being of my babies. However, for many of my puppy customers, size and weight are among the first questions they ask. The growth chart below provides an estimate of what you can expect, though as a breeder, I can never guarantee exact adult size or weight. My puppies from a typical litter average between 4–6 lbs full grown, and on occasion, I have babies that are smaller.
The most accurate time to estimate their true adult weight is between 8 and 12 weeks of age, after they are weaned. As a general guideline, you can triple their weight at 8 weeks or double their weight at 12 weeks.
How to Use the Growth Chart
Locate your puppy’s age in the far-left column of the chart.
Weigh your puppy and convert the weight to ounces (1 lb = 16 oz).
Example:Â If your puppy weighs 2 lbs 4 oz, calculate:Â $(2 \times 16) + 4 = 36\text{ oz}$.
Move across the row corresponding to your puppy’s age to find their current weight (all weights on the chart are listed in ounces except for the final adult weight in pounds).
Trace the column downward to determine the estimated adult weight for your puppy.
